About Us

It all began in Palmoli, in 1964.

Palmoli is a town of seven hundred souls in the Vasto hills, where every family had its own ventricina recipe and never wrote it down because there was no need. They learned by watching, repeating, making mistakes, and trying again.

Giuseppe and Mario Belfiore knew that recipe well. And in 1964, they decided to bring it to Vasto, opening a small business with an attached workshop where they produced ventricina and sausages.

Nothing grand. A counter, their hands, the recipes from Palmoli.

Twenty years of quiet growth.

Those who know the people of Vasto know they don't like fanfare.
Our shop grew without advertising, without stories to tell the newspapers. It grew because those who came once returned. And the next time they brought someone. And then that someone did the same.

In the 80s, the shop started to feel too small.
So we moved to a larger space, in the historic center of Vasto, the heart of the city, a stone's throw from one of the most beautiful and breathtaking views on the Adriatic coast.

Over time, the workshop also grew, to keep up with the strong demand that simply and genuinely continued to increase.

Until 1989, when we opened another location at Via Giulio Cesare 28, also in Vasto.

Today, sixty years after the first counter, we are still here.
Producing, serving, doing things the way we've always done them, with our Abruzzese products and our traditional recipes, just like on the first day we opened.

And behind the counter, you'll still find Nicola and Alfredo, with their usual jokes.

Nicola, Alfredo, and a shop that never closes.

Nicola and Alfredo Belfiore, Giuseppe's sons, grew up amidst casings, spices, and curing. They are the ones who carry on the production every day, with the same approach as their father: few ingredients, no shortcuts, taking the time it needs. One of them is almost always behind the counter, the other in the workshop. It has worked this way for sixty years.

Why the need to create a website.

Shops like this are disappearing.
Not because the products have gotten worse. Not because people don't want them anymore. They disappear because the world has moved elsewhere, and there isn't always the time or the way to keep up.

This deli is the story of our family.
But it's also a piece of Vasto, of what Abruzzo truly is.

Of those places that always seem to be there... until they're not anymore.
And when that happens, you realize it too late.

The e-commerce was born from this. To keep alive something worth keeping alive. To ensure that the most loyal customers, those who live far away or who only passed through here once, can continue to have a piece of Vasto in their pantry.

And to also demonstrate that these businesses can still stand, if they are helped to be found.

If you're in the area, the shop is open. Via Giulio Cesare 28, Vasto. Nicola and Alfredo are almost always there :)
